Peppermint arvensis organic essential oil, also known as corn mint, is one of many different species of the herb and has an exceptionally high menthol content – typically 85%. So high, in fact, that menthol crystals sometimes form on the leaves. This potency further boosts the characteristic sharp, penetrating minty scent with an intense sweetness, making it a popular choice for flavouring and scenting purposes.
The powerful minty aroma of corn mint makes a good mate for basil, eucalyptus, cedarwood and cajeput. For a citrus twist, as a foil for the sharpness of the menthol, try mixing with lemon, lime or mandarin.
