Distilled from the tear-like resin produced from incisions on the bark of a shrub, myrrh oil has had diverse uses for centuries. In ancient cultures it was used in perfumes, incense and embalming and was prized for its healing qualities. It is still used therapeutically but is also commonly used as a base for perfume manufacture.
Organic myrrh oil’s warm, rich and spicy odour, with its balsamic edge, makes a perfect blend with its biblical cousin, frankincense, but also with lavender, palmarosa, patchouli, rose, sandalwood, tea tree and thyme.
