The laurel family is renowned for its fragrance, elegance and therapeutic properties. Laurel leaf oil, produced by steam distillation from evergreen leaves, has a strong, complex odour: fresh, sweet, spicy and camphoraceous, with a medicinal edge. Its aroma is reminiscent of cajuput but a little harsher and less acrid.
The citrus oils blend well with laurel leaf organic oil, just as they do with its cousin, bay. Clary sage, cypress, hyssop and juniper berry are all natural soulmates to laurel leaf.
