One of the large sage family, clary sage has large, hairy leaves and small, blue/purple flowers, which produce this light, golden yellow, organic essential oil. Its distinctive, herbaceous aroma, well known for its culinary use, is earthy, fruity and floral yet also nutty.
The list of oils which blend with clary sage is long. In fact, it blends well with almost any, though bergamot, chamomile, geranium, jasmine and sandalwood are just some of the particularly good mates for this herbaceous oil.
