The well-rounded, citrus scent of citronella oil, with its subtle wood tones, is much less harsh on the nose than actual lemon oil. It’s now widely used in commercially produced shampoos, soaps and body washes. And there are plenty of other ways you can use this versatile oil around the home than just keeping bugs at bay.
With its dominantly citrusy character, citronella blends perfectly with many different oils but bergamot, geranium, lavender, orange and bitter orange, cedarwood and pine work particularly well.
